Arrival of our New Safety Boat ’The Richard Roberts’, named after our late President
OSC Chief Instructor Matt Riley with Wendy Roberts, President James Robinson and Richard and Wendy’s son Jamie
Our new safety boat, the Richard Roberts, has arrived and has been commissioned ahead of the training season which is about to commence. Richard Roberts was the Club President until his death in 2021. He was also a past commodore of the sailing club, spent perhaps more time on the river than on land(!) and lived in Orford for many decades.
Naming our new safety boat after him is a fitting tribute to a very popular and inspirational figure.
