The Ten Footer fleet continued to be an iconic part of the Orford SC sailing scene during 2016.
The Dove Point Picnic on Sun 14th Aug was very well attended and we had a most enjoyable lunch ashore, with the Commodore on standby to tow anyone back upriver who wasn’t able to use the incoming tide.
The high winds on the rearranged Regatta Day, Sun 28th Aug, proved a little too much for two of the participants in the annual George & Mary Cup. Both Richard and myself capsized after jybing unexpectantly, but we were both rescued unharmed by the Safety Boat, together with our precious vessels, and the race was won for the second year running by Mary Goldin in Goblin.
We hope to organise a similar set of events next year, with lots of fun sailing in between.
Kind regards to everyone in the Ten Footer fleet and I hope you have a very happy winter.
Cheers Migs
